Why is my Kinect not picking up my voice?

My Kinect suddenly stopped picking up my voice when I talk. It won't hear my commands for powering off, loading a game, or anything. How can I fix this problem?

Options

First, make sure if your Kinect is properly connected. Otherwise check your microphone settings on your Kinect. Or check the calibration of your microphone. For more information, look at this troubleshooting guide.
