Diagnosing keyboard + power button failure
MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009 2.8ghz
Hi, My 2009 macbook pro (with history unknown) has a total keyboard and power button failure. I need to short pin 5 (to 6) to start it, but otherwise it is fully functional. I have tried reseating the keyboard cable without effect. I noticed the cable locking tab has been heat affected/slightly melted on the left side - though the connectors still seem to insert fully, and the tab locks down ok. Also, the right most data line on cable was flipped back at the tip a little (which i tried to rectify). Any ideas about whether this is likely a keyboard or logic board failure. Thanks
Is this a good question?
