sleep/lock button clicks when I push it, but isn't responding.

Hey so I have just finished replacing the back houseing on my iphone 5s 16GB white and silver and now the power button isn't working. It clicks like it should no problem pushing it down, but it isn't responding. I checked the upper component cable and it seems to be fine. only damage I have noticed was to a small ribbon cable thing in the top left corner all the way down at the frame. I had to remove it to replace the back housing as the new housing didn't come with anything. It looks like it connects to the ear speaker assembly only so I don't know why it would effect the lock button. Is there something I have missed? the cable that I accidentally ripped the corner of is in place it was holding on by a thread so I restuck it on the new back plate hoping it would be fine and from what I can tell it works as it is suppose to other than the lock key. Thanks for any input.
