Many times error 3194 CAN be a software issue.
Try this to see if the so called host file is the problem:
I guess you are using Windows, if so:
temp. disable your antivirus program
navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and rename the "host"file into for example "host_old"
restart your computer, connect to itunes and try to restore your device.
Try if it helps and do not forget to rename your "host_old" into "host" again.
