Why is my battery always showing 0%

I recently updated my Nexus 7 2nd Generation LTE to 5.1 and few days earlier my battery drained to 0% but later it charged up but now it's stuck at 0% even if it is fully charged or have any charge. Can you tell me how to fix it

Have you tried turning it on and off again? Navigate to Settings -> Battery, what does it say there?

I have done it many time but no use. And at settings also it is showing 0%
