What is causing my angle grinder to make so much noise?

For the past several days I have been using my Makita GA4030 to work on an extensive project for many hours at a time. As I was using it this afternoon I noticed that the grinder started making a funny noise that it has never made before. What’s going on? Is this something worth fixing or should I just go buy a new one?

When you dropped the angle grinder, you may have dislodged or broken some internal components. To find the problem, open up the angle grinder and look for damage and loose pieces. Damage could take the form of dents, unconnected wires, or loose graphite bits within the device.
