Replaced trackpad and now second hard drive in optical bay not seen

Replaced the track pad with no problems but when i started the laptop the second drive in the optical bay is nowhere to be found. I hear it spinning but going through the disk utility and system report comes up with nothing. I checked the hard drive using an external bay and it shows no problems.

Thanks

Not all MacBook Pro's can support SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) drives in a dual carrier setup.

Review the red section at the bottom of this: OWC Data Doubler. It makes no difference who's drive frame you used all encounter the same problem.

You'll need to set the drive SATA I/O speed to SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) or II (3.0 Gb/s) or get one that is set at SATA II. Auto speed setting drives also won't work as the problem is the clocking of the port is halfway between SATA II & III which is the cause of this problem.
