Attempting to restore iPhone , I get error message 1.

I am attempting to restore and update my iphone and it keeps saying "iphone itunes cannot restore this iphone unknown error occured 1" please help. It is also stuck in recovery mode, could you please help me get it out of recovery mode if you cant help me with the first question?
