wii will only play 1 game no others

Hello,

We purchased a smart tv which does not have the red, green, and yellow areas to plug in the cables. Therefore, I went online to see what I could do and found I could get something to plug in with HDMI. That has come in and I have it set up. The wii menu comes up when I switch to it. I also updated my TV to make sure it was in game mode and switched the WII to the EP selection. The only game that plays is the WII game. When I put any other game in it may show on the menu, most of the time not, and when I click on it, it starts to spin and shows two discs spinning and then the error message comes up and tells me to refer to the operation manual. I have cleaned the Wii console inside, with a disk with a cloth on it and a handle, and the outside with q-tips and a cloth. What do you suggest I do next?
