Completely dead iPhone 4

Hi,

I have been replacing iPhone screens and doing general repairs for a while now. I have been given a dead iphone 4 to look at. I initially thought that it was going to either be the battery or the dock connector. I have tested the battery in another phone and that works fine. I also bought and fitted a new dock connector (which i have done before) and still have nothing. Can't get any sign of life out of it whether it is plugged in to a mains adapter or plugged in to the pc.

Any one have any other ideas to what the problem could be? I'm hoping it's not the main board but don't really know what else to try/swap without spending money that I don't need to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

There are some possible reasons:

1.power button is broke.

2.Power IC works bad.

Thanks for your response. I'd guess if the power button is broke you would still get some sign of life to indicate the phone is charging or plugged in to the computer. I think the power IC is a bit too involved to replace - not something I have done before.

What is the voltage on the battery connector with the phone plugged in to a charger?

At the risk of sounding stupid, can you explain how I would check this please? Which pins to check etc.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
