How can I reverse water damage to my Droid Turbo?

I dropped my phone in the washing machine-got it out quickly-now it is making familiar noises but the screen went out. It is now in a bag of rice.-still responds when someone calls me.

Can it be fixed? please

mary, just to clarify. Your phone is a Motorola Droid Turbo? First advise, skip the rice. It does not do anything but gives you a false sense of security. Second advise is to stop trying to turn your phone on or to sync it with your computer. That can make a bad situation worse Disassemble your phone, Use this video to help you with that. Then clean each and every part with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. Do not forget the connectors on the board and the cable ends. While cleaning, check for obvious damaged parts. Once you have it properly cleaned, replace the battery and reassemble your phone. Then try to restart and evaluate for any further issues.

Thanks old turkey! I used the isospopyl 91% and cleaned the battery connector (had green residue/build up on it) and its now working again. You saved me a lot of money. Thanks again.

I tried this and now my phone charges, and I hear it restarting over and over and over and the only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. Any other advice on how to fix it?

The video isn't very helpful. I can't get the back off of my phone.

I watched video but couldn't open phone with special tool. I found an easier solution. Put the phone in a hot car on the dashboardsun for an hour, I did this and my phone started working. Good Luck!

I put my (fresh water damaged) droid turbo in the sun on my car dashboard on a hot day for an hour, (it may take longer) it worked for 2 days and then started acting weird( saying no sim card, and not connecting to internet.) I put it on the dashboard again for an hour and prayed. Now it's working fine again! Good Luck!

I will try this. For Droid Turbo 2, use this video for teardown:
