Why is my wd my book 3tb hard drive not showing up?

I was forced to unplug my hard drive without dismounting first. I tried to eject it and it was saying that it was in use. I did not nsee any open programs using the drive. Would not eject so i had to just unplug it. Now my computer won't read it. Please help!

The OS still had open files. The next time it's best to shutdown the computer so it forces the saving of the files.

As to fixing this you'll need to get a file recover app to hopefully knit back together the directory services which are corrupted on the disk. Something like this tool should fix this TestDisk
