removal of back flush pipe

Hi I took off the back flush pipe from my Gaggia Classic .The only way to remove it ,was using a spanner ,but when I tried to fit it back on I had tor remove top cover to hold the rubber tube to tighten it up.I understood all I had to do was to pull pipe off and fit it back again .could you help me out.It's only three months old

The backflush pipe should pull right off of it's fitting, no tools are usually required as it needs to be removed each time you remove the drip tray. Similarly, it should push right back in.
