Ipad mini retina lcd does not work after digitizer replacement

After replacing the digitizer and Lcd, the lcd does not come on. If you hold the home button Siri does come on. If I take apart I see the LCD does have light emitting from the back

Hold a flash light over the screen of iPad see if you can see any images on the iPad screen if you never disconnected the battery before the lcd was removed there a chance the backlight is blown ..

Also possible the lcd is damaged
