Everything works fine but No backlight after water damage

Block Image

All of a sudden the screen(light) will appear, which means it can not be totally broken. Its only the backlight thats not working. Tried to clean the area with a toothbrush.

Is there anything that can be done? Will a professional reperation be super expensive?

mrsbiotherm, looks like you've had a short circuit. Your connector looks like pin 3 or 4 ( can't really see it that well) has been destroyed. You will have to replace the connector and find the short circuit. For that you will have to know how to microsolder, have the schematic and a good meter to determine what happened.

So in other words; there is not really anthing I can do myself.. I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P89b9oKx... and tried to connect the point with a wire. Only problem is I didnt really know where to connect them/put/place the ends/wire.

Thank you for the answer! It is much appreciated.

Yes you would have to replace the connector which will definitely require soldering etc. You could send it of to somebody that may repair it for you. It will be somewhat expensive, but cheaper than a new board or a new computer.

There are some possible reasons:

1. The power supply is insufficiency.

2.Some parts like CPU, CMOS or display card is broken.

3.The connection between the accessories are bad.

I, myself, would think the connection might be bad, since it all of a sudden will turn on (the light). Though - tried to get a connection between the third "dot" and something else. The dot broke.

So not the cable, but the "dots" that connects the signal from the cable and further.

But.. is there anything i can do myself to fix it?

mrsbiotherm, You need professionals' help. The structure is complicated. Don't change it by yourself. It might make things get worse.
