FM Receiver and Transmitter?

According to the teardown of the iPhone 4 and Broadcom site... Broadcom BCM4329FKUBG Chip has a combo FM (receiver and transmitter)...

Can it be utilized as an FM radio? Does the phone have an FM antenna or can the wired headset be used as an antenna ?

getting use of the fm radio would involve serious hacking.

i wouldn't say that it's impossible - but at the moment it's not likely an option to use the fm radio on the iPhone.

fm antennas must be longer than a gsm antenna - so the iPhone would most likely use the headset cable as an antenna

There's a possibility that Apple has a plan to activate that functionality down the road, like they did with the Bluetooth hidden inside the iPod touch. As of now it does nothing.
