Can I reuse my old RAM in my new system?

hi guys

i have this ram out of my defunked iMac late 2009-1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM

would this work in a new iMac 27 inch late 2013.

Are you sure the speed is 1600? If it is your in luck! the specs for the late '13 27" iMac is:

  • PC3-12800 (1600) DDR3, 204-pin, SO-DIMM

Your old '09 iMac used:

  • PC3-8500 (1066) DDR3, 204-pin, SO-DIMM

i might have copied and pasted the wrong info

yes the new iMac late 2013 has this ram

PC3-12800

(1600) DDR3

204-pin

SO-DIMM

and my old iMac late 2009 has

PC3-8500

(1066) DDR3

204-pin

SO-DIMM

does the old ram from the late 2009 iMac work in the new late 2013 iMac

and if so does the speed differ as its a 1066 ?

ps bare in mind that i got the new iMac on tuesday as last tuesday my late 2009 went out on the black screen of failure..
