What causes my iPad mini to Intermittently shutdown?

We have had this unit for some tim but its been well cared for, not dropped or bounced.

However when tapping the screen to select an icon or during typing and sometimes when just sitting on the train watching a video the unit will just go blank, pressing the home button has no effect, but pressing the sleep/wake button will start the boot process.

The software is up to date.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks

Sounds like the battery connector may be loose. Has it ever had any repairs or service?

Hi Brian

Thanks for the reply. The unit is "as new" never been opened, serviced or repaired!

Is the battery contact a known weakness?

Cheers

JC

No, the connector is fairly secure , but what you are describing sounds like the battery is briefly disconnecting from the logic board when the ipad is jarred.
