How I can remove a hard disk password from a WD500AVCS?

Hey guys i just buy an used Western Digital hard disk WD500AVCS but when i turn on my pc i suprise that he want me to give him a password.

so i would ask you guys to give me a way to remove this password

clubhouse,take a look on here. I do not know anything about this software but it may be useful. Right now you have really nothing to lose. It is my understanding that when it is password protected, it will need the BIOS of the machine it was set at, to be unlocked. Looks like a bad buy and I'd definitely would have a conversation with the seller.

There is really not a whole lot you can do. You can try the software or end it to a data recovery place to have it unlocked. Otherwise, it's a write-off.

OT, I never encountered this issue. If the data is not needed (and it is not needed here apparently), is it not possible to wipe or simply reformat the HDD?
