Is the replacement rear case as prone to scuffing?

My iPhone 5 is very scuffed and I'd like to buy a new rear case. Do you know whether the replacement case (sold by iFixit) is as prone to scratches as the original? I have a feeling that later models have a more resilient finish.

I'm my experience all the cases I have ever seen are prone to scuffing original or copy the copy more so
