Windows 8 keyboard not typing?
Have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E350 with Windows 8 OS for two years. No notable problems with the laptop itself, but since I've gotten it I've noticed a recurring issue with the keyboard. Out of nowhere (and I mean totally random) the keyboard will stop responding to keystrokes as typing and ONLY PULL UP WINDOWS 8 SHORTCUTS. So the keyboard is working, but not typing, only pulling up the start screen, C for Computer, R for run, D will take me to the desktop, etc. I can only type (and only some letters) in the search box that appears along with the Start side bar. I think it is a Windows 8 problem and not with the laptop because I've observed it on several other, brand new, Windows 8 laptops. The only fix I've found so far is to pull up the On Screen keyboard and type a few letters from there, and then when I close it it will allow me to type normally again. If this doesn't work,I have to restart.
I've seen it happen in the internet browser, on Microsoft Word, everywhere.Any permanent fix?
Is this a good question?
