replaced the screen/digitizer on my iPad mini and now my LCD is black

I know this forum is old, but I thought it couldn't hurt posting on here. I just replaced the screen/digitizer on my iPad mini and now my LCD is black. I thought it was the backlight, but there is nothing on the screen, not even a dim picture. I have triple checked all the connections and everything seems to be good, and the iPad is on and working because if I hold down the home button I hear Siri. I have tried charging it, I have tried disconnecting battery/digitizer/LCD overnight and then reconnecting, I have tried a hard reset...nothing seems to be helping. Any advice on this would be appreciated.
