I've replaced the battery, and it works fine when plugged into an AC outlet. When I unplug it, it immediately dies. If plugged into the computer, it says, "please wait, very low battery" and never mounts or shows up in itunes. Is the battery faulty?

rmsmits, I'd start with a different battery. Carefully so, this model has problems with the battery connector. It has the tendency of breaking from the board. That initially may start with the same errors. Check the contacts carefully.

I pulled it apart again and the brown connector tab was/is loose. I don't think it's broke, but certainly doesn't stay down and in place. If that's the issue, is there something I could use to hold it in place? Thanks.
It's definitely the tab. I was able to hold it in just the right spot and it does work. So, back to my other question, "Is there something I could use to hold it in place"? Glue? http://www.amazon.com/Sciplus-Electrical...
Glue will be a pain since it could get into the traces, or permanently close your connector. Of course you could try some clothes tape since it does provide more of a grip and can be removed. If that does not work, the best would be to replace the connector.
