Replacing front glass for A1490 model iPad mini 2 with LTE

I have an iPad mini 2 with LTE (model A1490) that has a cracked screen. The LCD seems to be fine, as there is no spider webbing or "bleeding" of color on the display. I am brand new to the task of repairing mobile devices and I am not sure exactly which part(s) I need. Again only the front glass that you actually touch is cracked and everything else seems to be in working order. Thanks for any guidance or assistance that anyone can provide!

Hi Joseph, Welcome to the world of Mobile repair! That being said the iPad mini is one of the worst devices to start off with. They are very delicate (especially the LCD) and can be very finicky putting back together. Watch a few repair videos on youtube first and spend a couple of hours on here searching though the answers index before deciding to proceed.

Thank you for your reply Brian! I have actually been researching the mini and I agree that it looks to be a real pain! This replacement is definitely going to be a very slow process this first time, but something that my department and I are willing to dive into.

I think we just need the front screen glass, but I can not seem to find this part available.

Try eBay or Amazon for the digitizer. Not sure where you are located but you might be able to find local resellers or Craiglist.
