Can only hear calls through speaker phone

I have a 3GS that i bought just a week ago. Now when I answer the phone they can hear me but I can't hear them. If I put it in speaker phone mode then all is good. Is there a simple fix or should I take it back?

Take this phone to Apple for a replacement. Don't try and fix it yourself in this case. AT&T is a waste of time, since they will send you to Apple anyway. Save your gas and go right to Apple.
