Can't charge the phone sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't

Hey,

I have 2 problems with my iPhone 5.

First is not big. The volume button - does not work. I guess if i just replace it for new one it will be ok.

Second is that the phone cant be charged. When I plug in charger cable It sometimes work sometimes doesn't (now it is more often that doesn't). I think that the charger port is somehow damaged. What else could it be? What should I buy and replace?

Options

Try cleaning your charging port, try a different lighting cable and charger, if you are still having problems you may need to replace your dock connector.
