no touch with new digitizer
I have a 2nd generation 32gb iPod touch that doesn't sense any touch at all. i bought a new digitizer from ebay and it hasn't made any difference. also the digitizer i purchased does work on a different iPod so i assume their is something wrong on the board somewhere. can anyone tell me what component or area controls the digitizer? maybe i can clean it with alcohol or something?
Is this a good question?
I'm with Chad - is there something that can be discussed about the particular parts involved and where they're located? I've got this issue also - everything else works fine, except no amount of new digitizers will fix it's non-responsiveness.
I have a new wifi flex cable, which the signal for the touch screen also flows through, but I don't want to tear one off and replace it with a new one, risking further damage, if that's not the cause. Further, it's possible, depending on the components, that a re-flow of solder in the affected area might fix this.
So. Let's have it. Who knows about this at this depth? :)
