How to merge Internal memory and Device memory?

Hi,

Sony Xperia S LT26i, has Device memory of 1.97GB. However there is 25GB of Internal Storage memory. Device memory is so small that more than half of it is occupied by Android, leaving very small space for applications. This in-turn slows up the device as there is very little space is remaining. I want to merge the both the partitions (Device memory and Internal memory). Can you please help me on this. My Emailid is: gaurav.whitelotus@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance!

Gaurav

Hey,

It *IS* possible, thanks to XDA Dev mickybart.

Not easy process at all though, check this guide on XDA. Make sure to flash Android 7.1 in the end (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-...)!

Your warranty will be void by doing this. If you run into problems, do not hesitate to ask at that forum (the 7.1 ROM thread.)

PS: Rooted phone is necessary :)

Good luck!

Hi,

I have the same problem, the only way that i found is through rooting the phone and then using an app called "Move app to SD card".

Unfortunately this can't be done. The 2GB internal is actually the RAM and is where the apps actually run and will be occupied as you stated. The 25GB is like the hard drive of a computer. The 25GB is only for storage of apps and data. Try running an app that let's you force close apps (Clean sweep or 360 security) and has the added bonus of cleaning the junk off of your device. I run 360 on my phone and it keeps it running really fast.
