HP Envy monitor cable issue?

I have a question about the monitor cable for my HP Envy M6. The thing absolutely refuses to stay in place. I know how to open up the monitor and re-fit the cable into the socket, but the only thing holding it in is tape. After a few openings and closings, the cable comes loose and the screen goes white or just stops displaying altogether.

What I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't stay in place after I replace it? Am I fitting it incorrectly? Is there something wrong with the monitor cable? There doesn't seem to be any method to hold the cable in place using clasps.
