Why does the SNES shut down the power of my room?

When ever I hook my SNES to play games, it shuts down the power of the entire room. Why does it do that? That doesn't happen when I use my other systems and I don't have many things plugged in.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Does it "pop" the breaker or the fuse for your room? Do you have a multimeter to check the power supply? Does that happen as soon as you plug your SNES in?

A symptom like this means there's obviously a short-circuit somewhere. The first thing to do is testing with another power supply. If nothing changes, then the short-circuit is probably inside the console.
