My mouse doesn't track smoothly

I have a Mac mini Late 2012 Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core I5 with 12 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory.

My question (problem) is that my Magic Mouse doesn't track smoothly. When moving the mouse at first nothing happens then the pointer will jump to catchup with where the mouse is, however once it catches up with the mouse movement it doesn't keep up. It will stop and start.

I know that it isn't the platform or the software because I have a second Magic Mouse and when I changed to the second mouse everything is Okay.

Any Ideas?

Found a can of compressed air and blew out the location of the laser and now everything tracks Okay. The delay is gone.

Fixed myself and I hope this may help others.

I have found that something as minor as a cat hair over the laser can affect tracking. Glad you figured it out.

ColleenThompson: Amazing... Mine hasn't worked right for years... blew out the laser hole with compressed air, and sure enough. Was just a cat hair! Thanks!
