Phone won' boot up after battery replacement

I replaced the battery in my iphone 5s. The phone would not boot up by itself (assume new battery had no charge?) so plugged in. All I got was the apple for 5-10 seconds then off again. This just repeats and the phone never boots up. Put old battery back in and it works. Is it a bad battery? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Kurt,

If the device functions properly again with the old battery then your replacement is indeed defective. It is a good thing you saved the old battery to test this with as we can easily rule out board damage or other mistakes from the repair. Defective parts unfortunately do happen often in this industry so I always make sure to order from a reliable source. Reliable in this sense refers to their exchange/warranty policies as no manufacturer is free from defects hitting the market. Good luck!

Definitley a bad battery, just tell the supplier it is broken and they will send you a new one and then you can send the old back.
