My Fitbit does not retained its charge
I received a Fitbit last Christmas (2013). The battery does not stay charged. I have cleaned the connection but that still doesn't correct the problem

FitBit says that the battery is a nicad rechargeable that must be discharged to 20% of its' capacity before charging and but be used every day to obtain the 30 month expected life. They only replace a unit that is less than 12 mos. old. As yet, there is no way to change the battery even here on iFixIt.

Please see my post. You can order a replacement battery with prying devices and installation instructions on Amazon. One customer whom rated the battery stated that the instructions were easy to follow. Those tools and a soldering gun are all that you need to replace the battery. I saw a post where someone recommended a glue to use to seal the case. If I can obtain the instructions, I will post.
Holds charge for 1-1 1/2 day only.

Mine is doing the same thing so I ordered a replacement battery on Amazon. Trying to install it now.

You can purchase a new battery for your Fitbit on Amazon; I recently did so myself. My Fitbit One was purchased in February 2014 and I wear it every day so my battery is near its end life. The battery seller did not include installation instructions. I sent him a message and he responded that I should take it for professional installation. He provided me a $5 Goodwill Refund of the battery price towards installation.
There are two sellers of the batteries on Amazon that include two prying tools and installation instructions. If you are good with your hands, I would suggest ordering a battery from one of them and doing the battery installation yourself. Some sellers of the batteries offer a one year warranty on the battery while others do not. The batteries are priced between $12 and $15 as of July 2021. I saw a rating by another Amazon customer stating that once she replaced her battery, it was holding a charge for two weeks just like it did when she purchased. I have been communicating with another Fitbit member and he has been buying up old Fitbits and replacing the batteries. He sells them on eBay. He is going to assist me with instructions for installing my battery.
BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): you can purchase and install a new battery for Fitbit One so your device will work as new!
