Any ideas on how to remove the keyboard?

My dad spilled something on his laptop's keyboard; I tried to tell him that I have to remove the back in order to swap out keyboards, but he's using videos of older thinkpads that had more modular components as evidence that this is not necessary. Can somebody please respond explaining to him how this process works? Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Remove the 10 black screws in the back, circle with marker first as they may interfere with reassembly when the motherboard screws (about 10) are returned to their original positions.

Also, you will have to remove hard drive and battery, LAN card, ( all of it).

Honestly, take pictures before, during and after with your phone, be sure that the lighting is bright.

You will end up pretty much disassembling the entire tablet, including removal of the motherboard, such as it is.

This is the first Yoga S1 I have changed and am not an expert at these by any means so proceed with caution... the other Yoga 11E was much easier to replace than this one.

If you aren't pretty handy with a bunch of very small screws and tiny components, you should have it done by a professional, I'm surprised that it booted up and worked! And happy.

This is the second tablet keyboard that has had coffee spilled on them in 3 weeks that I have had to track down online, order and replace!

I'm an old IT guy and support a couple hundred pc's, servers, printers, switches. This tablet keyboard swap is the job I dislike the most. Good luck!

Please no hammers, just sharing what I have, and just finished this an hour ago. A video would be really helpful, but I didn't find one.

A search for "thinkpad yoga s1 hardware maintenance manual" will get you many results like these. If you go to the keyboard assembly section, it will say which parts you must remove before it.
