Not booting after attempted screen repair

The iPhone 5c I attempted a screen repair. I did not unplug the battery and it was on so I could quickly see if the screen had any issues. I plugged it in and nothing came on while I was diagnosing the problem (I had flickering).

I then thought that the issue was the screen had died, so I tried the original screen. It did not work as well. I panicked, and plugged it into the computer, but it does not recognize it at all.

Did I short it out? Is there any way for me to fix it if so?

So you could quickly see? it literally takes 30 seconds to boot up. Connect the screen and everything back up and then disconnect and reconnect the battery, see if that works

This worked. Thank you. I guess I hit a fuse. I have a problem with white and not black so I wanted to do it quickly. I will be more careful now. I never had problems with safety before so I ignored it and it caused me this problem. Thank you so much

You left the phone on so you could quickly see??

That really is not a smart thing to do

Yeah, I need to be more careful from now on. I was tired and wanted to finish it fast and it cost me more time and paranoia.
