Replace Early 2011 Logic Board with Late 2011 LB?

The GPU of my MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011) crashed, leaving the it unable to boot after hanging on a screen with green vertical stripes.

Apparently a lot of MacBooks from 2011 share suffer from this (https://www.change.org/p/timothy-d-cook-...)

I was wondering, since the entire logic board needs to be replaced, if it can be replaced with the logic board of the Late 2011 series.

It's only a minor upgrade of the CPU and GPU:

Early 2011 Late 2011

Processor Number: I7-2720QM I7-2760QM

Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz 2.4 GHz

Video System: Radeon HD 6750M Radeon HD 6770M

Which MacBook Logic board should I purchase?

"The boards are the same within model years... including early to late '11 so if you can find the faster (2.2GHz-2.5GHz) board it would work."

Although it has been a couple of years since I last used this MacBook, I recently tried to fix the broken GPU again.

I see this article still has some traction, so I’m posting what I did here.

A new Logic Board was too expensive, but I was able to temporarily fix the GPU issue with a specialized reflow heating machine from my univerity college. This however only lasted for about 4 or 5 moths, (untill the end of the my semester).

The only workaround I found that makes the MacBook usable again, is by disabling the GPU in the EFI vars, more info via:

Be aware that any external screens will no longer work! (Even AirPlay screen sharing doesn't seem to be an option)

I hope this can help someone.
