it's possible that the headphone jack is loose, but it's also possible that dust/dirt is inside the headphone jack - using canned air is one possible fix.
but since the device is less than a year on the market - i would let apple handle that problem. the repair you are willing to do can result in some serious damage - so let apple handle it ;-)

Its and iPod Touch 3rd generation and weve tried multiple headsets. All make in and out sounds...like jack is loose. Anyway to open iPod without breaking it?
