What is that hole at the top of tablet?

Hole is approximately 1mm. Located on the top deep side.

Hi Billy, can you be a little more descriptive? Perhaps a picture? Or if the hole is visible in a teardown image, a link to that?

Do you mean the front-facing HD camera?

I think he means the ~1mms diameter hole ~7mms centerward from the headphone jack. Without investigating further, I'm guessing it's the microphone.

When I took off the case, I found something. I have no idea what it is. If you hold your fire tablet to where the volume and off button is facing your right, and then face the tablet upwards, then look at the right of the thin part, you'll see something that looks like it can be opened. I opened it and I still have no clue wth it is

Which model of Kindle Fire HD is it? My guess is the microphone but it’s hard to tell without knowing the exact model. There is a list of models with labeled images of each here: https://www.lovemyfire.com/kindle-fire-t...
