Just did battery replacement, now power switch only works to turn on?

Howdy y'all,

Thanks in advance

I opened her up to do a battery replacement, got it in, closed back (didn't even touch the on/off button flex)... the on/off switch works to power up the device but won't work at all for say turning the screen on/off after the device is already on. Also to throw another wrench in, if I hold it to turn it off it will pop up to turn the screen off... its just the quick clicks that don't work

The only think is to replace that flex, however maybe its something simple yall can help me with?

I opened her back up used Alcohol on the flex connection, and reseated it (although it didn't look crooked or anything before I pulled the flex out to clean and reseat) still didn't work... so help?

Thank you!

Turns out replacing the top glass, and re running new tape... did the trick for some reason.
