Disconnected drive while being accessed

I made internal hard drive into an external hard drive. I plugged it into my PC and downloaded 2 GB file on it. BUT I didn't remove it using "safe to remove", instead I just unplugged it. And now its not showing up in PC but it shows up on my laptop. Anyone know why? Need Help? Please
