What is the largest SSD available for my MacBook Pro?

The computer is a 3.06 GHz (Mid 2009) MacBook Pro Unibody 17 Inch.

I would like to upgrade my Mac's hard drive to an SSD (Not SSDD hybrid drives). What is the largest hard drive size available for my MacBook Pro?

Here's the details of your system: MacBook Pro 17" 3.06 GHz (Core 2 Duo) Mid-2009. Note the HD's SATA port info.

As long as it fits within the space (2.5" x 9.5mm) and has the correct SATA interface for your system SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) any SSD should work (that can run at SATA II).

The largest I've seen is 2TB but that will set you back around $3,400. You may want to reconsider the size to something more economical like a 128GB or 256GB unit for around $140~300.
