Phone hanging and screen registering touches on its own.

I recently changed the buttons strip because my power button was not working from a local shop. After the repair the screen had a white vertical line towards the right part. He said it would go and it did. But now the phone randomly hangs and the screen registers touches on its own. Like it's possessed. Randomly opens apps and texts ppl etc etc. It happens till I restart the phone after sometime. Why is this? And how do I solve it? I don't think it's a software problem for me to factory reset it. Thanks in advance.

I don't think so as the screen works properly most of the times. Only at times it gives such problems.
