Phone Does Not Go Into Factory Reset Mode (Hard Reset)

i have a Lg Optimius G LS970. The Phone Locked me out and is asking for Email and Pass-code. Unfortunately i do not have my info, I am attempting to do a factory Hard Reset, however while holding down the Volume Down Button + Power Button, the Phone goes to the LG Boot Up screen and then shuts off. if i let go of the buttons the phone just boots up completely and takes me to the screen that asks for email and pass-code. Any Form of help would be nice, Thank You -

Exact same thing happened to me. The phones recovery wouldn't work.

U power the phone off..wait 4-5 seconds after it goes off and then you hold the volume down button and power button....as soon as lg screen comes on you let go of the power button ONLY for a sec and push it again while still holding the volume down the entire time..keep it there until the factory page comes on.. It took me a cpl tries.. I'm not sure if I held the volume button down and power at the same time in the first step or hit volume for a a second before the power so u can try both

After looking at tons of answers on a bunch of different websites, this comment was finally the only thing that worked for me. Trust me, I have factory reset MANY phones in my time, it's just been a minute since i've done one, but I knew it was power + volume down keys while turning it on. The only reason why it didn't work after a ton of trys was because when the LG logo appears you have to let go of power (while still holding volume down), then press and hold power again until reset screen appears (note: dont let go of the volume down at all until the reset screen appears, only let go of the power button then press and hold it again after)

by

thank you so much. only thing that worked for me.

by

Nothing works for me. I will never buy one of these phones ever again. I can't even factory reset it

by

What Michael said did it Linda, don't wait with letting go of the power button until the second LG life's good screen appears, let go of it for a quick second when the "lg logo with powered by android on the bottom appears" hope it works for you too

by

OMG! I tried so many times and your method seems to work for me. You took it step by step I thought I was gonna have to buy a new phone. But you saved me from that. Thank you so much :-) :-)

With the phone off hold the power/lock key and volume down at the same time. Once the back/home/menu key lights up release all the buttons. This will take you to the recovery menu. Use the volume keys to highlight the option you want then use the MENU button to enter your command. The power/lock key does not work as the enter command. Hope this helps.

Having the same problem. Doing all of these steps do not work. It just starts over, right back to the start up screen then it keeps asking for the email login to unlock the phone. My son created it and doesn't remember what it is, so now the phone is completely locked out, with no option for an email recovery.

This question was asked I seen you a couple years ago but I was having the same problem and I figured that I put in my answer. I found that if you do not have your phone charged to more than 30% battery and you are unable to do the reset on the phone. I'm assuming because the reset will be cancelled if the phone dies completely. Hope this helps!

Yes yes, I think it is because either your volume button isn't working, or you keep on clicking the home button first. Try the volume button, then home button.. If not, probably time to either change your password or get a new phone.. My brother had the same problem.

How to Factory Reset / Hard Reset Tracfone LG L34C Optimus Fuel

Herman Anderson Tracfone Hard Reset

Performing Factory Reset on Tracfone LG L34C Optimus Fuel – Have any problem, glitches, issue, bugs and software problem on your Tracfone LG L34C Optimus Fuel and no matter what you do, those problems are still there? If that so, then it is time for you to perform hard reset.

Hard reset or factory reset is the term that was used to bring your device back to what it was when it left the factory. Meaning that there are no 3rd party applications or any data that you add after you bought it.

Factory Reset Tracfone LG L34C

Is this action worth to do? The answer is yes, especially when you encounter problem that you can’t solve with other action.

Performing hard reset is not that difficult. You can do this using two methods. The first one is by accessing factory reset from system setting in your device. This is the normal way to do it, but if you can’t do it for whatever reason you have in there, use the second method.

Soft Factory Reset Tracfone LG L34C

Start by go to phone Settings.

Find the “Backup & Reset” option among the available menu and tap on it.

You will find more option, and you need to find “Factory Data Reset” and then tap on it.

At the bottom, you will see the option of “Reset Phone”, tap on this option as well.

Enter your unlock sequence if you have configured one, then tap “Erase Everything” and OK to confirm.

Wait until the process is completed, where the phone will reboot back to its normal mode.

Hard Factory Reset Tracfone LG L34C

It’s a little bit complicated, but as long as you follow the guide, you will be all right:

Power OFF the phone.

Press and hold Power button and Volume Down button in the same time for several seconds.

Keep doing this until you see LG logo appear on the screen. When the logo is appear, release both buttons but for 1 seconds only.

Remember that release both buttons just for 1 seconds before you press and hold them once again.

When you do it right, the device will boot into Recovery Mode where you can see it on the screen and this is where you can release both buttons.

In recovery mode, you can navigate through the menu using Power Up and Down button.

Use those buttons to find and the highlight “Wipe Data / Factory Reset” option. Use Power button to make the selection.

Select the “Yes” option on the first dialog box and another dialog box will also show up to confirm your action. In the second dialog box, select “Yes” and let the factory reset process begin.

It is not that difficult and with a little practice you can do it smoothly. Now, always remember to back up your data before you perform this action. Do the backup either manually or using specific software or any other way you prefer so you can restore it back after the factory reset complete

On some LG phones Android 6 contiguously hold volume up and hold power until LG screen displays, then release the power button for a second, then reapply power to access factory reset menu. (hard reset, while powering up your device) Use volume keys to navigate and power button to accept

Important if resetting because of a faulty digitizer touch screen, the phone will have to be sent out, fixed or replaced, reset is not recommend if you wish to save the data.
