Why does my touchpad not work

My touchpad comes and goes...it works sometime and sometimes it doesn't. I was wondering if I have too many songs on the phone or pics...what would cause this...please help.

How old is it? Might just be the digitizer. If so, you're going to have to purchase a new front panel for it. They don't sell the digitizer by itself. You can purchase it here, they also have step-by-step instructions on how to replace it yourself.
