Why is my screen black but everything else works

I dropped my phone yesterday on the floor. At first the screen was discolored with an unresponsive touch screen, but now its just pretty much black but I can slightly see the display underneath. I'm still receiving text and phone calls but I can't answer them since the touch screen is unresponsive. Can I fix my phone if I replace the LCD screen or am I completely screwed?
