LCD seperation from frame

So I have a phone that was dropped and the lcd display fell out of the front. not the whole display fell out, just the digitizer lcd part. The frame that the home button is attached to was still in the phone. I popped out the frame and reattached the lcd with some double sided adhesive tape (1mm). I put everything back together and the phone will not turn on. I think the lcd still works tho because when it was still attached to the phone when I first got it, I could see light from the display coming out of the back but nothing was coming through the front display. Do I probably just need to replace the screen?
