My system will no longer pick up controler

The system turns on and boots up , even loads the games but no matter what controler I attempt to use it will not link it.

Have you tried resetting the control by pressing the little reset button on the back of the controller.

I had an issue with the controller not syncing (4 flashing lights) and presumed it was the contoller after trying the reset button . After buying another controller (which did exactly the same thing) I worked out that it must be something to do with the Wifi/Bluetooth circuitry in the PS3. When I get some spare cash I will attempt to remedy this, but I'm not hopeful.
