Disks lost inside, drawer won't open

Disks have gotten loose in this 5-disk carousel Toshiba SD-3205 DVD Video Player. The drawer won't open and they're some of my favorite disks. Do I have to take it apart? If so, how?

Is the player dead or does it power on ?

if it powers on - just try one thing - press the eject button and "tap" with your fingers on the top of the player) (could be a little harder, but not THAT hard ;-) )

sometimes the magnet wont release the drawer (had this on a few cd drives in the past) - if that wont help. use the service manual for the disassembly

click here for the service manual

i checked the manual and it's the real one

Thanks for the response, Markus. It powers on. I'll try the tap method first. My fear is that the disks are not in their slots in the drawer and that something will get crunched.

I tried to download the manual, but I get messages that it isn't available. It might only be available for PC--I'm on a Mac.

Thanks again.

ok, i was to lazy to try it with one of my hackbooks right now (it's not even 5:30am) - i downloaded it and uploaded it to google docs: CLICK here

Thanks again, Markus. If the tap method doesn't work, I'll probably have to take it somewhere. I'm not really set up to disassemble here. Another project for the weekend, perhaps! You are up wayyyy too early.
