Accidentally dropped Walkman in water, unable to turn on.

I dropped my Sony Walkman NWZ-B143F into the water and now i am unable to turn it on. But when I turn on my computer, the LCD screen still lights up and say that it is charging and i am able to transfer music.

mikaela, first thing you want to do is to stop trying to turn it on or to charge it. That potentially can cause greater damage. 2nd what model Walkman is it?

Bob the builder, the very first thing I suggest is that you stop using it and remove the battery. The more you try to start and sync the greater the chance of causing a short circuit. After that, disassemble your walkman and clean everything with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. That will remove the debris etc. Once you got it cleaned, replace the battery and reassemble. Water damage is the toughest to repair and diagnose. Hope this helps, good luck

how do i remove the battery? Sony Walkman mp3

My Sony walkman, which fell in water, can't be taken apart and so can't remove the battery either. It's a completely sealed device.
