Can anyone identify this logic board component?

Hi, I am trying to identify this component from the logic board of my macbook. The display backlight stopped working and i replaced the fuse (0402 i think) next to it and it all worked for a week but then it stopped again. The component shown used to have 300 ohms on the pins pointed out but now it does not.

Does anyone know what it is and where i can get a new one?

gratabb, this is very hard to see. A bigger, more focused picture would be better than what you have right now. You should also give us the last four digits of your computers serial number so we can properly identify your hardware.

gratabb, that is reference designator Q9806 and it is a FDC638APZ SBMS001 Mosfet P-Type RDS(ON)43 mOhm @4.5V and LOADING 0.4A in a SuperSOT package. You can get it from here if needed. I would suggest that you get the datasheet and measure that FET first. Hope this helps, good luck

thanks oldturkey, i actually managed to find it after some more googling. I have ordered it now except minimum order was 20 ! so i'll have some spares :) and minimum spend was £20 so bought some soldering kit. Its minimal compared to a new logic board !.

You don't happen to know where i can get a schematic diagram for Macbook Pro mid 2009 15" do you ? they seem hard to come by

Thanks very much
